Christopher Polowy- Youth Philanthropist
My name is Christopher and I am 13 years old! Youth are making a difference in Alberta! I am an example of youth giving back to their community. When I was 3 years old, I was diagnosed with an illness at the Stollery Children’s Hospital. My sister Kelley and I decided to give back to the Stollery by organizing a fundraiser called Kids Helping Kids. The sale was so successful we continued to raise money and education the community about the needs of the hospital for 10 years. We raised a total of $31,000.00. I have expanded my philanthropy work by volunteering at my school , at the YMCA, Youth in Training, organizing family activities and sports also serving as an ambassador with the Stollery Youth Network where I work as a team member to raise money for the Stollery Children's Hospital and organize community events Volunteering has taught me many skills, how to be a leader, team work and having an opportunity to make my community a better place.
